ABOUT THE PLACE –

Baga beach is one of the most popular beaches of Goa.This beach is actually an extension of the popular Calengute beach at an approx. distance of 15km from Panaji and  a rough 8 km from Mapusa. It is flooded with tourists almost all time of the year. The key features of this beach is it’s scenic view, endless food and liquor; the main attraction for kids and adults are the water sports hosted here, safe and adventurous. Baga also has luxurious accommodation and minimal rented shacks for your convenient stay.

The hippies discovered most of the beaches in Goa, Baga was popularised by the hippies in the 60’s and 70’s and still holds the charm. The term ‘BAGA’ is because of the ‘Baga Creek’ which flows into the vast Arabian sea. Baga beach runs along the deep blue Arabian sea between Anjuna and Calengute beach, and is home to devoted tourists who visit for the cool breeze along the soothing shores, watch the mesmerising sunsets and make the most of the buzzing night life here.

The nightlife in Baga is what drives people insane. Many come down to enjoy the bustling night life here. Brittos, Titos and Mambos are some of the famous night clubs in Baga with arrangements for live music, dance floor and exclusive customer services. The local liquor here is quite popular but you also have the best of brands available for you. As far as the food is considered, you can totally indulge into the local cuisine of Goa or if you are a seafood lover; this place is heaven for you.

HOW TO REACH-

BY ROAD – Baga beach is approx. 10.5 from Mapusa and about an half hour drive from the state capital Panaji. Regular bus services are available which are the best economical option. Plenty of rental cars, auto rickshaws are readily available these days. You can ask your resorts for pick up from the nearest station or airport. The rented cars by the day are customer friendly and good option for  exploring the city on your own.

BY TRAIN – Thivim at an approx distance of 19km is the nearest railway station; other rail heads are Karmali (26kms) and Margao (49kms). The Vasco da Gama railway head is at an approx distance of 42.7kms from Baga. Goa is well connected to most important cities.

BY AIR– International airport is at Vasco da Gama (42.7kms). The nearest airport is Dabolim (approx. 40kms) which connects almost every big city in India.

HOLIDAY TIPS –

If you are visiting Calangute beach, Baga beach is just 2 kms away. You can walk down to enjoy the early sunrise or the night parties. Water sports are the real deal here. Wind surfing, Wake boarding, Para sailing, Jet ski and many many options for you to indulge and enjoy. It is really fun to see kids enjoying spotting dolphins.

Be careful with your cash in Goa, It is recommended to use cards for transactions. Always keep your tour operator’s number and your hotel’s contact handy with you. Keep your essentials in zip pouches when you are around water. Preferably use life jackets when in water.
